ITINERARY:

DAY 1:

Your holiday begins as you fly to Guatemala City, where upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the former colonial capital city of Antigua.

DAY 2:

Enjoy a walking tour of Antigua to to explore the city and orientate yourself whilst visiting some of the sites that remain from the Spanish Colonial times.

DAY 3:

Day at leisure. Options to visit a coffee or macadamia plantation, a local weaving co-operative, climb Pacaya Volcano or try out some thrilling white-water rafting or zip-lining.

DAY 4:

Travel over to Panajachel, located on the shores of the picturesque Lake Atitlán. En route enjoy a stop-off to visit a bustling local market at either Chichicastenango or Sololá.

DAY 5:

Enjoy a boat trip out over the lake to visit one of the local communities, where you can earn about their customs and traditions in this beautiful part of the world.

DAY 6:

Set off for your transfer back to Guatemala City. En route stop-off to visit the Maya ruins at Iximché, which include a number of pyramid-temples, ball courts and palaces.

DAY 7:

Travel across the border into neighbouring Honduras for a 2-night stay at Copán – home to the famous Maya ruins.

DAY 8:

Guided visit to the Copán Maya ruins, boasting a hieroglyphic staircase and a number of impressive & ornately-carved stellae.

DAY 9:

Transfer across the border into neighbouring El Salvador. Onwards transfer to the colonial town of Suchitoto.

DAY 10:

Enjoy a guided tour of the city. Options for a boat trip on Lake Suchitlan or a guided visit to a local indigo plantation.

DAY 11:

Travel down the scenic, 36km long, Flowers Route, admiring the backdrop of El Salvador’s impressive range of volcanoes. Visit a local town en route to learn about their traditions and lifestyles.

DAY 12:

Day at leisure. Options to visit a local coffee plantation, go hiking or horse riding, try an ATV bike ride through the mountains, hike one of the nearby volcanoes or relax with a soak in the local hot springs.

DAY 13:

Marvel at El Salvador’s stunning volcanic scenery as you visit the impressive Cerro Verde, Izalco Volcano, and have lunch whilst gazing over scenic Lake Coatepeque.

DAY 14:

Spend the final morning of your Central America holiday in San Savador for any last-minute shopping. Afternoon transfer to the airport ahead of your flight home.
